This painting is part of the "Ghosts" series, shown at Gallery 1448,1448 East Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD, in November 2007. It was inspired by a piece of driftwood I had found years earlier and impelled by an emotional personal crisis.

What gratifies me about this work is the balance achieved between violence and attraction, between fear and desire. The amazons and angels that haunt our cultural history and our dreams of perfection are indeed G H O S T S of the soul.

The driftwood is in itself a stunning icon, a two-sided wonder. Do you see what I see?
